Alina Bandrowska was born in the multi-ethnic region of Ukraine. She grew up on folkloric and musical traditions of different cultures (Ukrainian, Russian and Polish). She graduated in Russian language, literature and Art in Lwov, Ukraine. During her studies she got reputation as performer of Russian gipsy music in the local artistic environment. After university, she left for Poland where she was teaching Russian language in Warsaw University. Later, she moved to London and, after, began her artistic career as gipsy singer in different clubs like “Borchsh & Tears” and the very popular Russian club-restaurant “Troika”. She participates in many private and public spectacles. In 1999 she performed in Chicago at the club “Bociany”. In 2002 she was invited to sing at the Jazz-Festival to Poland and Ukraine (Lwov), where she introduces her own songs. At present she lives in Montreal.
Beside her singing ability, she writes poems in three languages (Russian, Ukrainian and Polish)! , tales for children and also composes her own songs. She produces her CD.
